SUBMIT!

We have re-opened for submissions for Issue 9.
Our Regular Issue Submissions Guidelines are as follows:
- Send no more than 3 poems or 1 short piece of prose to thunderclap.mag@gmail.com. Please include your poems or flash fiction in the body of the email or we will disregard the submission (this is for editing purposes). Please have the flash fiction be no longer than 700 words.
- Robert Vaughan or I will work to get back to you within 5 days with an update or suggestions about work submitted. For longer pieces, such as chapbooks, it may take me a few more days. One thing I think we do well at Thunderclap is not leave people hanging.
- Get your creative on! We are looking for submissions that tend not to deal with any general, over-arching themes and do not have language that is too fluid. We enjoy being surprised.
- Thunderclap Press will cover all costs pertaining to publishing, and also has a few friends that help with throwing pictures and designs forth for certain publications. When it comes to chapbooks, we work with the writer to get as close as possible to their ideal end product.
- Please keep in mind that while Thunderclap will try to respect the author’s wishes, ultimately we would like to retain some control over the creative process and make sure we like the product that we are putting out.
I am currently closed to Chapbook submissions until until further notice. Also, any piece sent to Thunderclap Pres must be an original piece that has not previously been published. This is really due to copyright concerns.
We currently can’t afford to buy contributor copies for those who wish to contribute to the bi-monthly magazine. There will always be a copy free for download for those artists who will be published in any given issue.

Dear Editors,
How many pages of poetry do you want for your Thunderclap Press chapbooks? I would like to submit a completed ms.
Thank you,
Bruce
Bruce,
Any number of pages is fine with me. However, the longer the work, the longer it will take me to look through it.
Amanda
Sending in my chapbook. Wish you all the best.
Hello,
I see you are closed for regular submissions. But are you open for chapbook submissions? If not, when does your next chapbook submission window open?
Thanks a million! Jeff
Jeff,
Please see the above. It does state that I’m closed to chapbook submissions until august 1, 2010.
Thanks!
Amanda,
I sent in a submission for a chapbook a while back but I never heard from you. Could you e-mail me and let me know if you have gotten to it yet? Thank you.
Hi.
Are you currently open to chapbooks of flash fiction? Are their length requirements or limitations?
Thanks so much.

Hello Amanda and Robert! I have work I would like to submit for consideration in the upcoming issue. However, I am a bit stymied (don’t know if I’ve ever used that word!) as to exactly how to do that? I haven’t been able to locate a link for e mail. Does the submission go right through in this “Reply” box? What other info should be included i.e. Name/Rank?Serial Number in Foreign legion, etc. Thanks for any info and advice on this you may have time to offer. Cordially shuffling off to Buffalo, Michael Gillan Maxwell
Michael,
Send your submissions to thunderclap.mag@gmail.com. I’m not sure where our email address went! Sorry!
Just write your name and either poetry or fiction in the subject line for us.
Thanks!
Amanda
